Usually, as a photographer, you are use to getting interviewed by couples and they usually pick you based on many factors including your work as a photographer, your personality, and of course your price. But at the same time, as a photographer, you are somewhat interviewing the couple to see if you are compatible, and if you can deliver what it is that you do in a way that fits each other. With Meagan and Sam, they are pretty much my perfect match!!!! The engagement shoot was so perfect in every way, and the wedding was even better. Meagan and Sam tied the knot in Beaver Creek, followed with a reception in Vail. Everything was perfectly planned by JoAnn at Mountain and Meadows Event Planning and totally fit Meagan and Sam's style. Complete with a choreographed "Tango" for the first dance, and instead of table numbers, they were named after such designers as "Gucci, Prada, Tiffany" etc. Thank you so much you two for all the fun, and I hope you had a great time in Fiji!!!!
I met Jesyka and Jordan on their farm in Montrose last week for their engagement pictures. Usually people get all fancy and dressed up for these shoots, however, Jesyka and Jordan were absolutely themselves which is hardcore!!!! Jordan farms 1200 acres and grows corn, onions, and a bunch of other stuff I really don't understand. There is a part of me that would love to do that stuff, but every now and then I don't even feel like mowing the lawn, so maybe I don't have what it takes. Anyhow, after a brief rain delay, we wondered around the farm, and then took out Jordan's sweet custom GMC truck that he started working on when he was 14!!! Thats dedication. Thanks so much you two for all the fun and a little education on farming......
Kristen and Corey were in town last week from North Carolina to finish up some wedding plans and to visit with family. We spent the evening in downtown Denver exploring the streets as well as taking a horse carriage down the 16th St Mall where we eventually got some drinks at Lucky Strike..... Kristen and Corey are getting married this winter in Breckenridge, where they have a very Beautiful and unique wedding planned. Thanks you two!!!!
Another lovely wedding with Julie Harris this time in Ft. Collins at The Tapestry House. Christina and Tyler had a great fun laid back party complete with BBQ Steak and Chicken catered by one of my favorites, "Texas Road House".
I met Dawn and Mike last week for their engagement photos in downtown Denver and had a blast. I think its funny how every couple I work with has their own way of being candid. I usually just keep looking for a place with good light to take some pictures, and then just have them be themselves, and forget about me. However, I think Dawn was concerned that she did not know what to do most of the time, and just kept asking Mike, "what should I do????" Obviously they did great, and its those few little moments of emotion that make the pictures awesome...... Thanks you two!!!!
I assisted Julie Harris at beautiful wedding a couple weeks ago in Denver. I have been so caught up in my own stuff, that I don't really get to help Julie that much any more and I really do miss it. Second shooting is so much fun and easy. I usually get about two assignments. One is getting formals of the guys, and two is getting pictures of the Bride and her father right before they walk down the aisle. Which is usually a very cool emotional moment. Other than that, just have fun and get some good pictures. Thanks again Julie.....
I am so behind on blogging, luckily I don't think I have any real loyal bloggers to complain..... Anyhow, here are my friends from work Christine and Nick who will be getting married late this summer up in Estes Park. It sure is easy when you already know the people you are working with, but then again, a challenge is always fun...... Thanks you two for putting up with me for the night......
